RIBS Shielding- The Next Generation ESD Safe Packaging

Announcing the next generation ESD safe packaging - RIBS Shielding. Combining the patented RIBS material with metallized polyester provides the next generation in ESD safe packaging. The RIBS material is a co-extrusion of a carbon layer and a layer of Corrosion Intercept (R). The carbon provides absorbtion of organics, and the inner layer of Corrosion Intercept (R) provides long term, stable non-contaminating corrosion protection by reacting and permanently neutralizing corrosive (inorganic) gases.

The resulting material provides shielding, with energy levels less than 15 njoules under S11.31, as well as essentially no outgassing, no detectable NVR and extremely low ionic contamination. Ionic contamination is below the industry specifications by such companies as Maxtor, for high end hard drive components and assemblies.

In addition, the RIBS material is made under filtered nitrogen extrusion, allowing RIBS Shielding bags to be cleaned to class 100 levels if required. This new material, manufactured by Pure-Stat, is being sold and marketed by RBS Inc.
