The Shrinkwrap Coating System is comprised of one or a multitude of coatings, each designed for specific applications and specific shrinkfilms. The water-based coating currently used in most applications is comprised of single-component, water-based, 100% acrylic latex coatings. The coating is intended for application over heat-shrunk polyethylene shrinkfilms.

The Shrinkwrap Coating System involves heat shrinking the storage item with a commercial grade 7-mil shrinkfilm. After the seams are taped and the item’s exposed surfaces protected from overspray, the shrinkfilm is spray coated with the Shrinkwrap Coating System primer to about 8-14 mil thickness. It is then allowed to dry, which can vary greatly in time due to temperature, humidity, and solar exposure factors.

The coating is light tan in color and is designed to provide adhesion to the heat-shrunk shrinkfilm. Because its color is different from most commercial shrinkfilms the color differentiation provide a thickness indication. Application of an additional layer of coating will further extend the storage cover life span.

The coating is UV stable and displays excellent heat reflection properties. It also provides an excellent protective membrane for many years, remaining flexible even under adverse conditions.

FEATURES:

  • Rohm and Haas – 100% Acrylic Technology.
  • Flexible – Flexibility is built into the polymer for long-term crack and impact resistance.
  • Adhesion – Excellent adhesion to most surfaces.
  • Mildew Resistant – Superior mold and mildew resistance.
  • Coverage – Excellent hiding power and Thixotrope to minimize sagging runs.
  • Ultra-violet Resistance – Excellent UV resistance and color stability.
  • Wide Color Range – Can be tinted to almost any color desired.
  • Easy Application – Single component, can be airless sprayed with a 3000 p.s.i. sprayer, rolled, or brushed.
  • Water reducible – No toxic or flammable solvents required.
  • High Build – Can be applied in thick coats without cracking.
  • UL Listed – Class "A" over non-combustible and Class "B" over combustible materials.
  • Environmentally Friendly – Water based; Asbestos, lead, and mercury free.

LIMITATIONS AND PRECAUTIONS:

  • Avoid application, if possible, when ambient temperature is below 500F. Cold temperatures and high humidity will retard drying.
  • Store in tightly closed containers and protect from freezing and excessive heat. Storage life is approximately 12 months. Mix well before use.
  • Coatings are not intended for use as a vapor and/or a fire barrier and should not be used for these purposes.
